Our Sunday School program is divided into three age groups—K–3rd grade, 4th–6th grade, and 7th–12th grade—to provide age-appropriate learning and discussion. We’re using Cokesbury’s FaithWeaver NOW series. 

 FaithWeaver Now Sunday School by Cokesbury is designed to strengthen today’s families while weaving faith into their busy lives. As families learn the same Bible truths—in age-appropriate ways—the result is more naturally occurring faith conversations and practical real-life applications.  Participants don’t just hear the Word—they experience it.

This fall, Calvary launches its new LGBTQIA+ Ministry led by Tim Napieralski with a powerful two-part experience. We’ll begin with a screening of 1946: The Mistranslation That Shifted Culture, a groundbreaking documentary uncovering how a 1946 Bible mistranslation fueled anti-gay theology. Featuring newly discovered Yale archives, insights from scholars, and personal stories, the film challenges long-held assumptions and invites fresh understanding.

Following the screening, we’ll dive into UnClobber by Colby Martin. This study will take a fresh look at the 6 clobber passages that have traditionally been used by the church to condemn Homosexuality. We want to understand what these actually do and do not say about the LGBTQIA+ community.

This group is currently studying Walking in the Dust of Rabbi Jesus by Lois Tverberg.

 Walking in the Dust of Rabbi Jesus explores how understanding Jesus’ Jewish context brings fresh insight to his teachings and practical guidance for following him today. From uncovering the meaning of Hebrew idioms to seeing his parables through Middle Eastern culture, this study invites us to hear Jesus as his first disciples did—deepening our prayers, enriching our Bible reading, and inspiring a more vibrant walk of faith.
